Here's the answers to a few questions that might prove helpful. And please don't hesitate to contact me if there's anything I can help you with.
If I'm in a different country - can we still work together.

Yes. You'll be surprised how easy it is to work online with me. I set up a special work area online where we can communicate. Sketches, ideas and other work can be uploaded for you as the project progresses. It really is fast and easy... wherever you are based.

How much will I have to pay up front?

I ask for a payment of 40% of the total fee before I begin the work, and the rest of the payment upon your receipt of the final artwork. This is a standard agreement that illustrators charge.

What's the usual process?

Step 1. We agree on costing for your job. You'll need to consider how many illustrations you require, roughly what size they'll be, as well as whether they're black & white or full colour.
Step 2. This is character development and design stage of the project. I provide sketches and ideas and we work on this together. I upload ideas, sketches and post notes on the job board about the project as I go. You can see it in progress and make changes as we go. Here's a rough character drawing for the Uggy book.
Step 3. The next step is to draw up the 'rough' sketches for the scenes in the book. I draw these in pencil and they're quite easy to change. So at this stage, you can alter anything you don't like in a scene, or ask for the scene to be re-drawn completely. There's usually several things that need to be altered. In this case, the author asked if the eye could be open. I do not charge for these revisions. I want you to be 100% happy with your artwork!
Step 4. After each line drawing is approved, I set to work colouring the artwork. Once it's given the final approval I upload the images for you. I also burn them to DVD disk and post them off to you. I can supply work to any publishing requirements and I'm sure you'll be more than happy with the finished product.
